Windows in AGRESSO



Once you have logged in to AGRESSO, the main menu is the first you will see. The main menu is divided into three tabs, Menu, Reports and Search conditions.

Screen tabs

Menu
On this tab you can choose which module and windows you wish to use. You can choose from all the companies that you have access to in the database. To see which companies you have access to in addition to the company you are logged on to, select Other companies on the main menu.


Reports
On this tab you will find browser templates (defined in AGRESSO Browser), Excelerator reports, Web Views, external links, and report output organised in a tree structure. When you first open this tab, all global reports are placed in the folder Global reports and private reports in Private reports. You are free to organise them any way you like.

If you click on a report output link, Maintenance of ordered reports is opened. You can also view web output here.

Search conditions
On this tab you can search for a text string in the title of a report, server process or window. Enter the text you are looking for in the Look for field and press the Search button. When the results are displayed, you can double-click on an entry to open that window.

Window types in AGRESSO

The windows used in AGRESSO can be classified into two main types: windows with single fields and windows with table fields.

Single field windows

These windows consist of fields where only one value can be used at a time.
An example of a single field window is the Company tab in the Company information window in AGRESSO Common.

Table field

A table field is a window where you can register, maintain and enquire about several occurrences at a time.
An example of a table field is the Chart of accounts window in AGRESSO Common.

Company information

Using this window you can update and enquire on fixed company information as well as amending the current accounting period. Fixed company information includes:


§ general information about the firm (company registration number, employer number, etc.)

§ addresses

§ fixed system setup, language, number of accounting periods

§ connections to other companies

§ fixed accounts which are used for certain system-generated transactions.

§ attributes for which general ledger transactions must balance.


When setting up new companies, the New company window in AGRESSO System Administration must be used to specify the 2-character alphanumeric identifier by which the company and basic master file information will be referenced.
Information such as company name, addresses and contact people is retrieved from this window and used in external reports such as sales invoices, payment invoices and reminder letters.


Chart of accounts

Using this window you can enter, update and enquire on chart of accounts information.

Note

You can also open this enquiry in the Browser. You would then see a different type of window with three tabs (Setup, SearchC and Results) and more options on the Tools menu.


Selecting a module and window

When you choose a module, window, report or server process in AGRESSO you should use the following procedure:

§ The modules installed are shown as book icons on the main menu. Double-click an icon to expand its menu (if you are using a keyboard, move the cursor using the arrow keys and press Enter).
§ The module icon then opens, showing the sub-menus available within the module. Double-click the sub-menu you wish to use. You can highlight a sub-menu item by typing the first letter of the sub-menu name.
§ The menu expands showing the accessible windows. The icon indicates that the menu can be further expanded.

§ Double-click the window that you wish to start
or
Position the cursor on the desired window and press Enter.


You can expand all the menus in the menu window using the Expand branches command on the Tools menu.
The command Collapse branches closes the expanded menu again.

You can view the enquiry templates and report variants that you have access to by clicking the Plus icon. They can be started from the menu by selecting the desired menu point and double-clicking.

Printing from windows

Regardless of which window you are using in AGRESSO you can print information from the window using the Print command on the File menu.

The Print command can be used to print AGRESSO’s windows or information contained within them.

Printing from a table field

When you choose Print from a table field in AGRESSO, a separate window will appear.
If you choose Yes the whole of the search results will be printed out (this may be considerably more than is displayed in the window).
If you choose No you will only print the contents of the active window.

Menu bar

The menu bar contains AGRESSO’s drop-down menus. You can choose a menu command using the mouse or the keyboard.

For example, you may choose the command Find from the Data menu in one of the following ways:

§ Click once on the Data menu with the left mouse button.
§ Click once on Find with the left mouse button.

or

§ Press the Alt key to activate the menu bar, then type D to activate the data menu.
§ Type F to choose the command Find.


You can also choose some commonly used commands using special function keys or by clicking buttons on the Toolbar.

§ Choose the command Find by pressing the function key F7.

or

§ Click the Binoculars button on the Toolbar.
